Live Your Best Life Wherever You Are with Tegan Hely:

This week we have a listener joining us on the show! I love to profile listeners and share their experiences of life in Japan in particular. Tegan and I have been IG friends for a while now, but this episode was the first time we actually got to speak to each other! If you are also an IG friend of Tegan, then you are going to love this episode too!

If you enjoyed this episode and it inspired you in some way, we’d love to hear about it and know your biggest takeaway. Take a screenshot of yourself listening to the episode on your device, post it to your Instagram Stories, and tag me and Tegan, @transformationswithjayne and @konnichiwa_mr_fox or send us a voice message here.

In this episode you’ll hear:

  • How Tegan came to be in Japan and what it was like to arrive with a young child

  • Supermarket mishaps! Jayne and Tegan share their shopping in Japan bloopers

  • What it was like moving countries during a pandemic

  • Some of the things Tegan misses about Japan

  • How Tegan helped Jayne with her transition to Sweden

Tegan is originally from Australia, and currently living in London where she lives with her husband and young son. Prior to moving to London in late 2020 she lived in Tokyo, Japan for 18 months with her family after her husband’s company offered him a secondment. She has previously lived in Norway, Scotland and London and loves exploring new countries and areas (when not in lockdown).

After starting her career in the mean big world of politics in Australia which led her from Canberra to the Scottish Parliament to Westminster, she made a career change and started working in corporate affairs for a large international company in Australia and undertook a Master’s degree in Marketing. She now works in the financial services sector in digital communications and marketing and loves being able to recreate dry and regulatory material into compelling online content.

She loves her coffee black, a necessity she adapted to while living in Norway, baking (an expensive hobby in Japan), being outdoors in nature, crime novels and thrillers, travel, minimalism, and loves learning about Japanese simplicity.
